Can you believe that Santa came to Cloghroe School today?
I was busy doing my work in Mrs. Curtin's class when we heard the sound of jingle-jangling bells and a big loud HO HO HO..... It was Santa Claus coming to visit us. He told us he heard that we were all good boys and girls and that he would bring us lots of lovely presents for Christmas. He gave us a lovely lollipop each, it was delicious.

Hi Everyone,
I am so excited to be back in Cloghroe School in Ireland. It is lovely seeing all my friends and making new ones.
As it is almost Christmas time we are having lots of fun in school. The children are performing Christmas plays and singing Christmas carols. Santa's Elves were seen running around the school and rumour has it that Santa himself will come visit us. I can't wait....

I helped Junior Infants to make Rice Krispie cakes today in school. First we melted chocolate and then mixed in the Rice Krispies. The best part was when we got to eat them. They were yummy. You can try to make them too as the recipe for them will be in our Comenius Irish Culinary Customs Book. The boys and girls told me that they love them at their birthday parties.

Hi
Everybody,
I am so
excited because today is my first day in Cloghroe National School in Cork,
Ireland. I went to visit Mrs. Curtin’s class where I met all the boys and girls
there. We chatted and played together. Then they wrote about me and drew
pictures. Here are some of my favourite ones.
Tuesday 3rd March: Can you believe that I made some more new friends, Jackie and Joe?
They
came to visit the children in Cloghroe school with Grafitti Theatre. They told
us all about being nice to each other and how to share. Sometimes they would
argue!!!But we helped them to be friends again.
Being here in Cloghroe school is soooo much fun!!!!! . Bye for now. Your friend Woezel

Parachute fun on a sunny
day in Cloghroe School
Lights, camera, action!
West Midlands theatre group visited Cloghroe National
School today. It was so much fun! The story was
called “The Firebird” and it was
set in Russia. The
magic firebird helped Prince Evan save the day with
Some
boys and girls even had the opportunity to
Here is a picture of me with girls in 3rd
class and some
We went on a school trip
to Fota Wildlife park on Thursday 22nd of May. It was so much fun.
We saw lots and lots of animals, cheetahs, kangaroos, penguins, giraffes,
bison, flamingos, even a boa constrictor. It was great when we went on a bug
hunt in the woods. We explored their habitat and found many different insects
and creepy crawlies. We made sure we did not harm any of them. We all enjoyed
our picnic lunch and playing in the playground. I was so tired that I fell
asleep on the bus on the way home….
Mother's Day
Look at all
the lovely bunches of flowers that the boys and girls in Mrs. Curtin’s class
made for Mother’s Day, which was Sunday 30th March. We learnt a
lovely Mother’s Day song too, all about making breakfast in bed for Mum. And
the children gave their mums two vouchers, one for a big hug and one for
an undisturbed nap. Can you see me in the middle of the picture? I feel like I
am in a beautiful flower garden……
Hey
everybody!
I
have had such a fantastic day today! I have been very busy recently, learning
several new songs, poems and dances. I am going to perform in “Cór Fheile na
Scol” in Cork with the boys and girls in 1st class. Cór Fheile is a
big concert held in the city hall in Cork.
We
are singing several songs about love and marriage. All the boys and girls
dressed up and really look like they are going to a wedding!
I
recorded the boys and girls singing “We go together” from the musical
Hello boys and girls!
I am having a wonderful time
in Cloghroe National School. Today was particularly exciting. Cloghroe held a
“green day” to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
The day began with over 500 pupils walking to school
dressed in green. This was a really fun way to raise awareness for the schools
“Green Schools” project. The Green Schools committee are trying to encourage
more pupils to walk to school to help the environment.
After that, I helped the Green
Schools Committee plant a tree. The boys and girls in Cloghroe are constantly
trying to take care of our environment.
Finally I visited every
classroom in Cloghroe N.S and helped the teachers give prizes for the “bested dressed
leprechauns”. It was a difficult job. Everyone looked fantastic!
My favourite part of the day
was meeting this little boy. His name is David. He gave me the best cuddles! I
will write to you all soon. Happy St.Patrick’s Day! Slán!

The start of our Comenius project
Today we started our Comenius project. Teachers from England and Ireland travelled to Antwerp to visit our city and our school. This morning we went on a guided tour through Antwerp. At midday we ate some delicious belgian fries and afterwords some belgian chocolate. Mmm...
In the afternoon we were invited in the city hall for a tour and a reception.
In the evening we went to a tapasbar for dinner.
What a wonderful day to start our project!
Tomorrow I can show my new friends our school. :) I'm looking forward to it!
